ESC Volunteering Opportunities

The European Solidarity Corps is known to offer volunteering opportunities and paid internships and job opportunities at both national and international levels as a new program replacing the European Voluntary Service. This program is designed to encourage young people to contribute to society while also enhancing their personal development.

The Quality of ESC Projects

The quality of the projects is very high as both sending and receiving organizations have a quality label issued by the National Agency of the country in which they operate. Host organizations are located in various locations, from cities to rural areas, making it possible to carry out volunteer projects in different contexts, such as farms, schools, homes, refugee centers, associations and others. These opportunities also offer the chance to learn or develop a new language and increase your skills.

ESC Volunteering

The European Solidarity Corps’ volunteering projects are aimed at young people aged 18-30 and are presented in two main categories: Team Volunteering and Individual Volunteering. It is known that each of these projects can only take place once.

In Team Volunteering, 10 to 40 young volunteers are brought together in one country to engage in various voluntary activities. Such projects are usually short-term, lasting between 2 weeks and 2 months. Bringing together volunteers from different cultures creates an environment of intercultural exchange.

Individual Volunteering involves longer-term projects ranging from 2 to 12 months. In these projects, volunteers are given more responsibility and develop deeper skills that contribute to their personal development.

All costs of volunteering projects such as travel, accommodation, food and clothing, pocket money for extra expenses such as excursions are covered by Erasmus+ funds. In addition to covering these costs, volunteers also have health insurance to cover costs related to medical expenses such as medicines, doctor visits, among others.

ESC Internships and Jobs

Under the European Solidarity Corps, internships are offered as a new component of the program. ESC internships are aimed at young people aged 18-30 and last between 2 and 6 months. This period can be extended up to 1 year depending on the need. Likewise, ESC job opportunities are offered as a new career step for young people and these projects can last from 3 to 12 months. In internships and work opportunities, volunteers are paid a fair wage by the host organization and social security contributions are made in accordance with the host country’s regulations.

Countries where the ESC Program takes place

European Solidarity Corps internships and jobs can only take place in the Member States of the European Union, but European Solidarity Corps volunteering programs are available in North Macedonia, Turkey, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Russia.
